With the release of Marvel’s Rivals, the game has been in a booming state where people can play for hours and get into games instantly. For me personally, it’s taken under ten seconds to get into a lobby and into the action. For this reason, the game has been given a title by the players as the Overwatch Killer since the game has the same type of layout as Overwatch. A team of five going head-to-head against another team of five to secure points and move payloads to win the match point.
Since the release of the game, it’s been taken out by the gaming community. Now with the launch of its first season, it’s releasing this past Halloween season, coming with 10 new pages in the battle pass with a handful of new skins and characters like the Fantastic Four. Like Mister Fantastic, who is a duelist with a kit that consists of his left click, he sends out an elastic punch to damage the enemy from range. His right click ability is a function where he can grab two players on the enemy team and smash them together, causing damage to both of the players with a cooldown of six seconds. His ultimate consists of him stretching himself to become larger while launching himself into the air, and slamming the ground and anything under him in the area of effect. For his final move, he builds up a meter bar to become large once again, but without launching himself into the air and smashing the ground. This mode allows him to catch incoming projectiles and launch them as one shot, dealing the damage he caught and sending it back to them with his kit done.
Let’s take a look at the other Fantastic Four members like Invisible Girl. Her primary fire serves as both a damaging and healing projectile. Her passive allows her to go invisible after being out of combat for a while or by double jumping. If she double jumps again, or does any form of attack it will deactivate her invisibility. She can also produce a wide, straight forward shield that can protect her team from incoming attacks and will regenerate over time once destroyed. Her shift ability sucks people in, and deals damage while they are in it. She also has a surge ability that allows her to either push or pull enemies. Finally, her special ability creates a giant circle that hides any team member within. It also heals any team member in it and enemies who are caught get slowed down, including their attacks like projectiles.
Now onto the Human Torch. His primary fire allows him to shoot a cluster of fire balls that cause burn-damage if hit by them. His second ability, blazing blast, allows him to launch a field of fire at the targeted area. His third ability allows him to make a ‘pyro priseion’ by connecting the flame field together to make a literal firewall, that seems to be about twelve feet tall. The fourth ability, plasma boy, allows him to go into a super heated mode that makes him faster and deal more damage, while also sending off heat waves, so anyone around him will be burned by the pulsing heat. His fifth ability, a flaming meteor going flying toward the ground to launch players, flies into the air and causes a field of fire to later combo with his other abilities. His final ability, supernova, launches a mass flaming heat wave at anything in your path, including your flame field, now causing them to become flaming tornadoes.
Sadly, we have not been shown anything for the last person apart from the Fantastic Four, a man made of what seems to be ground rock, and many other things. We can assume he is a tank for Marvel rivals.
Besides that, let’s go into the Halloween themed battle pass. The first thing you will get for buying the battle pass for Loki is called the ‘all butcher.’ Then, we have the next skin on the same page for the name ‘Blood Moon Knight,’ just a cool little revamp skin that is all black with hints of red. Personally, it is one of my favorite skins already. Then, for the next page, we get a skin for the rocket raccoon as a bounty hunter. He looks super cool, with a kind of a steampunk look to him which is fitting, because he is extremely intelligent, as seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
The next page is a rare skin for Penny Parker, called Blue Tarantula. It’s nothing special, just her normal skin, but with hints of blue and white. With the next page, a skin for Magneto, called King Magnus, and its fitting. He’s got a class full of red while dressed in a very fancy suit with rims of gold all around him and his cape. The next page has a skin for Namor called ‘savage submariner,’ it’s just another remodel of his base skin just with a little bit more to it some more curls and twists where it was needed.
The next page has a picture of Dracula hinting towards a skin coming up but after that the next page is for iron man and his new skin called the ‘blood edge’ armor. He looks like a medieval knight, but with the Iron Man twist, with all the cool switch ups and markings on it.
After that, the next page has a new skin for Adam Warlock called ‘blood soul’ and he looks like he’s in some cultish, deep red, with gold emotionless mask. Then after that we have a another skin believe it or not and it’s for Scarlet Witch with the name emporium matron its a super blood red dress and looks very sleek on her definitely a fitting outfit and then finally the final page with the final skin its for wolverine and the name is blood berserker so it’s kind of like a vampire hunter with a werewolf and this wraps up what’s confirmed to come out with season one of Marvel Rivals.
