Marvel Rivals is launching their middle season update on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 4:00 am that comes with the new final members of the Fantastic Four: The Thing and The Human Torch.
With the release of these two characters, we have also been given a few adjustments and changes toward some high pick-rate characters. Starting it off with Tanks, Captain America got a speed increase for his vibranium energy saws projectile speed from 60 m/s to 80 m/s with the ricochets launching up to 100m/s to a huge leap of 150 m/s reducing the cost for Captain America’s Freedom charge (ultimate ability) from 3100 to 2800.
Captain America is also able to melee while his shield is being tossed allowing him to have fluid combat. Next up Doctor Strange, this supreme sorcerer is getting a chunk taken out of his base health from 650 to 600, a simple change honestly. Now it’s time for our beloved tree man Groot, he will be getting an increased range for placing his thornlash wall from 15 meters to 18 meters. It would have been nice if it was a solid 20 meters, but maybe next time groot players. Magneto, the master of magnetism, will be taking a little hit in his survivability just like Doctor Strange. They are increasing the iron volley projectile damage from 35 to 40, increasing his metallic curtain’s energy consumption from 50/s to 65/s, and reducing how long it is active to 2s to 1.5s. Magneto did need a dmg buff and I honestly think this change is valid. Next on the list is the God of Thunder Thor. Thor has removed the shared cooldown time after the duration of his awakening ends. Next up is the Symbiote Menace, Venom, he will be getting an adjustment to the knockback effect of frenzied arrival from vertical to inward with an angle of 75. He is also getting a feast of the abyss (ultimate ability) from 2800 to 2500.
Duelists:
Black Widow has an increased magazine of the Red Room rifle from 8 to 15. Her electro plasma explosion (ultimate ability) has been giving more slow towards the characters hit with hits from 80% to 55% with 15% vulnerability to hit enemies for 4 seconds.
Hawk Eye’s base health has been increased from 250 to 275, the damage of his blast arrows from 20 to 15, and the spread damage of his blast arrow has been increased from 25 to 32. Reduced the cooldown of crescent slash from 15s to 12s. Increased the bow draw speed during the duration of his ultimate ability hunter sight and increased the damage multiplier.
Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death, will cast a longer shadow with a nerf to her mid/long range by adding a fall-off the damage of her night sword thorn at 30 meters and will be changed from 70% to 80%.
Iron Fist with an overall adjustment to his kit reduced the damage of Jeet Kune the strikes will go down from 332 to 30 while the final hits will do less damage from 16 to 15 increasing his health from harmony recovery from 50 to 150 but with a new decay mechanism makes it so the extra health will leave over time. Also increased his health by deflecting damage that is then transformed into the shield and then his overall health was increased from 250 to 300.
Iron Man will be cranking up the heat with an increase to his unibeam in armor overdrive form so 180/s to 190/s.
Magik the queen of limbo will have her damage slightly reduced. Decrease the damage dealt by demons rage (normal state) from 80/s to 72/s and reduce the cost of darkchild (ultimate ability) from 3700 to 3400.
Mister Fantastic will get an increase in the spell field radius after landing flexible elongation from 2.5 meters to 5 meters on top of the elongation will now feature a knockback effect launching enemies outwards within the area and have increased the time for this move from 8s to 10s. Increased the damage of brainiac bounce (ultimate ability) spell from 50 to 70 increased energy cost from 2800 to 3400 and with the new damage decay mechanism that iron fist has
Moon Knight the hand of khonshu will be getting a reduced the hand of khonshu talons falling speed also adding the correct damage trigger logic for hand of khonshi the previous one was not correct dealing more damage then was intended
Scarlet Witch has gained an additional bonus health of 100 once she activates her ultimate ability.
SpiderMan reduced web cluster energize time from 3s to 2,5s
Starlord increased rocket propulsions maximum energy from 1200 to 1800
Strom has been giving fall damage starts at 30 meters and the damage decrease is now 60 instead of 70 a light nerf to her weather control from 16 to 12 but it gives her team a damage increase from 8 to 10 and also reduced her damage increase from weather control from 30 to 25.
Strategists:
Adam Warlock:
Adam will be getting a light damage increase from 55 to 60 additionally the damage falloff at 40 meters and the fall of damage will be increased from 50% damage to 60% damage while in falloff with an increase of healing by soul bond from 10/s to 15/s.
Cloak & Dagger:
Increase the cost to eternal bond (ultimate ability) from 3400 to 4000 the healing amount was also buffed from 220/s to 250/s the duration of the eternal bond is being decreased from 10/s to 8/s and the change between cloak and dagger is becoming faster from 1s to 0.67s. You can no longer overlap the heal effect; it now counts as one. During ultimate camera lock is no longer implemented. Tyrone’s vulnerability inflicted by his terror cape is now increased for 20% to 28%.
Invisible Woman:
Increased the energy cost of invisible boundary (ultimate ability) from 4000 to 4300.
Loki is getting an increase in energy cost of god of mischief (ultimate ability) from 3400 to 4000 and an increase of mystical missile charges from 10 to 12.
Finally, for the final hero, Luna Snow, with an increased energy cost to activate fate of both words (ultimate ability) from 4000 to 4500.
