Slipknot Returns
By Parker Doty ‘25
On April 25th 2024, Slipknot returned with new members, tours, and a new (classic) look. This was their first tour since since 2021. This new look was in celebration of the bands 25th anniversary, with many of the masks/jumpsuits, taking shape as their 1999 counterparts.
The comeback would be teased through a new website, Youcantkillme.com, were they teased the date, saying ,“This page was last updated on 4-25-24.” From there, a video would be released, also hinting at a comeback. All of this came together in April this past year where a small show took place in California, allowing only 85 people to come and watch. Following this, the band played three more shows, then took a break until August.
During their break, fans identified the new members as Eloy Cassagrande, (former drummer for the band Sepultura), and Jeff Karmowski, replacing the role as drummer, and keyboard/sampler.
With the tour picking back up in August, the band would also see new masks from every member.
These masks brought back the original band energy, with Corey Taylor (Vocalist), in the spotlight for his new (OG style) dreaded mask. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, also wore a very original style clown mask, giving attention to the OG look, alongside his eight other band members. Paired with these masks, the band wore red jumpsuits, with the original bar code, and a 25 badge on the side. These suits also saw the phrase “6 SIC 6” giving another nod to the original look.
With the last US show, on October 12th, 2024, Slipknot is moving to Brazil, where they will tour, and then move on to Europe, the United Kingdom, and Mexico. These tours will continue into 2025, and will conclude the 25th anniversary, for the metal band, Slipknot.
