STEAM Team, STEAM being for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, is a new club at the at BHS. They meet peorically during the week virtually on google classroom, 5pm-6pm. Usually two meetings per week. Anywhere from Monday to Thursday. I asked Bailee Robinson, the student who founded the club what STEAM Team means to them, they said, “Steam team is a group of people that come together and inspire younger classmen to go into steam-related fields.”
The group achieves this by learning and promoting the different branches of STEAM. They intend to get students interested in taking electives, clubs, or various avenues that will help them go down the right path into one of these careers. The methods they use in these meetings are slide presentations, videos, and even real experiments and examples.
Steam aka more known as stem is the acronym for Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This group adds the “A” for art. Graduating with a STEM degree in college is one of the best degrees you can get. According to Bau.edu. “Despite how difficult it can be, a stem degree is worth it, as it can be incredibly rewarding. While offering a also very wide career path.
In conclusion, if you are interested in any of these career paths this is the club for you, it’ll help put you onto track of achieving your goals of working in these fields, especially if you’re an underclassmen trying to find what you wanna do after high school, this may just be the route for you. And if you’re an upperclassmen just trying to find the motivation to continue forward, working with people who want to do the same things as you could encourage you to still achieve.
