One of the most disastrous wildfires to ever happen were the LA wildfires on January 7th, 2025. This wildfire took many homes, and in the worst case some lives too. This fire was very tragic and devastating to the families of those involved and even those who saw and heard about it on the news. The fire was fueled by high heats, dry conditions, and strong winds. The wild combinations quickly made the fire spread through Los Angeles. Considering how dangerous and strong the winds were, it was very hard for firefighters to win the battle. Over time, the fire destroyed many homes, it forced thousands of people to evacuate and find safety; however, many people and animals are still displaced.
“I believe that fire was going to happen, inevitably. Considering how hot and dry California is as a whole, I just feel like only god could have prevented that fire. I mean it gets up to 100 degrees and some change in Michigan, just imagine how hot and dry it is in California. You could see that wildfire coming from a mile away. The first item I would take if my house was on fire, is my PS5, that’s just too important”, said by Martilleo Darby in a recent interview.
Several areas of California like Malibu and the San Fernando Valley were hit very hard. Many corporations, small businesses, and of course families lost everything they had. It’s tragic because insurance companies will go bankrupt if they give out money to every business and family that was involved in the tragic wildfire. A lack of resources was a contributing factor to the spread, firefighter, and emergency teams gave everything they had to help the people of the inflamed areas. Though it wasn’t enough. The fires were just too strong. The air quality was another challenge. A lot of dust and debris filled the air, causing more harm to those who were around.
To think about how 2025 just started and this tragedy has happened. Hospitals were packed and overwhelmed with patients seeking immediate help from burns to smoke inhalation. Many schools and businesses were shut down and some may have been burned down as well. In one last interview from Sean Rambus, Sean Rambus claimed that people are lucky the fire was not worse than what it already was, “Imagine if it was any hotter and the winds were stronger, there could have been a lot more casualties. Fires, when they spread especially at that rate, are almost impossible to stop before it takes out half the things in the area.”
