Would you work harder in school if you knew you could get paid for it? Belleville School District has introduced the Tiger Village program, which allows students to earn money to improve their academic performance.
This new program, open to all students, goal is to motivate and support them as they work toward achieving personal academic goals. Many other school districts have started similar programs, with some paying students up to $300 for making academic progress.
The Tiger Village program isn’t just about the money, though. Its main goal is to help students improve and reach their full potential. While students do receive financial rewards for meeting their goals, the focus is on providing them with the guidance they need to succeed. When a student signs up, they commit to achieving a specific goal in school, whether it’s improving their grades, completing assignments on time, or being on time and showing up every day. After you set your goal a mentor works with you to help you achieve it.
The program also provides students with a sense of community and support. At the end of the semester, Belleville hosts a Tiger Village Banquet to celebrate the students who’ve made progress toward their goals. Even if a student doesn’t fully meet their goal, their hard work is still recognized but students who reach their goals receive a $100 reward. This banquet is held for students to feel proud of what they accomplished.
The first Tiger Village Banquet took place on February 19, 2025, and it was a great success. It allowed the student’s families, mentors, and administrators to celebrate the hard work the students put in. If you’re interested in signing up, the registration period for the program opened on February 20 and will close on February 28, 2025.
This program is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to improve their academic performance while receiving the support and motivation to do so. If you’re looking for a way to stay focused, get help, and earn money, the Tiger Village program could be perfect for you.
