The Belleville Robotics Team, Bellevillains 6615, is looking for new team members for the 2024-2025 season that starts January 4th.
The Bellevillains 2023-2024 season came with surprises and victories. The team qualified for the state competition at Saginaw University for the first time ever. They went on to win first place in the DTE division along with their Alliance partners, team 6081 Digital Discolators from Manchester, Michigan, and team 4362 CSPA Gems from Brighton, Michigan. This win would give the Villains their second blue banner ever since the program started at the high school in 2017. This powerful alliance would go on to get second place in the whole competition and qualify the Bellevillains for their first ever trip to the world championship in Texas. The Bellevillains would end the 2023- 2024 season ranked number twenty-third in the state of Michigan.
The Bellevillains are looking for new members to join them in their mission to take over the world for the 2024-2025 season. There are three different sub teams that you can choose from, build, programming, or logistics, The Build team will be designing and building the robot-building practice fields, and there is no past experience required for the position. The programming team programs the robot in Java. Experience with Java or programming in general is recommended. The logistics team’s jobs are to recruit sponsors to design team shirts and posters. There is no prior experience required. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the team.
When asking logistics member and BHS sophomore Samantha Boykin what she looks forward to the most this season, she said, “The thing I am looking forward to most is definitely getting to meet new people and learning new skills because last year, I really enjoyed going up to people and learning about their way of life and how they got to the point where they are now. I find it very interesting.”
