During the Golden Globes on January 3, 2025, Zendaya walked in with a diamond ring on “that” finger, which is why fans started to speculate that Tom had proposed to her. CBS Morning and The Sun state that Holland proposed during Christmas or New Year’s Eve in one of Zendaya’s family homes and said the couple are ready and excited for this next chapter.
According to BuzzFeed, Tom Holland’s dad shared details about Tom’s proposal, where he then stated, “Tom, as you know by now, was very incredibly prepared. He had purchased a ring.” He also said that Tom had talked to his future father-in-law before popping the question. “He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter, Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.” Although he didn’t share all the details of the engagement, he did say that when they do marry, he’s “completely confident they will make a successful union.”
Also stated by BuzzFeed, according to a tattoo artist, not only has Zendaya gotten a new tattoo, but Tom Holland has, too. Fans first noticed Zendaya’s new tattoo at the Golden Globes. Dressed in a strapless, burnt orange gown by Louis Vuitton, she could be seen with what appeared to be a small “T” on her left side just below her armpit. It turns out, Zendaya and Tom got matching tattoos in November at the Boston Tattoo company in Massachusetts, per People. Tom apparently got a “Z” above his ribcage. The day after the Golden Globes, Zendaya appeared at the Challengers screening in LA where she is also seen wearing the engagement ring, proving that it is not just an accessory.
She’s seen playing with the ring and fans speculate that she’s replaying the proposal in her head while smiling as she starts to drift off. Tom and Zendaya had met for the first time for Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016; however, they didn’t confirm their relationship until five years after the movie. We do know that they both keep their relationship private but not a secret, so there will be subtle hints that we as consumers will have to assume, which means not everything is confirmed by the stars themselves.
