Girls Varsity Basketball Team Season Recap

The varsity girls basketball team wrapped up with a major milestone by making it to quarter-finals on 3/19 where they played against DeWitt at Mason High School with a final score of 48-41. Players and coaches say the season has been defined by growth, teamwork, and perseverance, making it one to remember for the sport and its supporters.

Team members point to leadership playing a big role in their success for the season. Captains Senior Se’Crette Carter, Sophomore Paisley Stephens,  and Junior Sydney Savoury have helped guide the team both on and off the court, setting the tone with their work ethic and communication. Se’Crette reflected on her last season with the BHS Girls Varsity team and said, “The energy is motivating and bright,” also emphasizing how the team’s positive attitude has pushed them through challenges.

The season hasn’t been without any obstacles, with one of their biggest challenges going against Howell, they still persevered. Facing tough opponents tested the team’s resilience, but players say their chemistry and determination helped them overcome those moments. Their ability to work together and stay focused has allowed them to come this far.

As the season is at an end, the team is also reflecting on the journey, practices, games, and the bonds they’ve built along the way. Photos and videos captured throughout the season highlight their hard work and dedication.

Regardless of the final outcome, the team’s effort, leadership, and unity have made this season a success and a proud moment for their school community. It’s still a great day to be a Lady Tiger!
