If Santa compared Christmas lists, he’d more than likely see a lot of repeats.
Christmas lists are a very common conversation topic in the month of December amongst students. I often find myself asking my friends about their lists as a conversation starter, and to possibly add more items to my list that I hadn’t originally thought of.
After reviewing several Christmas lists, I’ve identified the five most common items that students are asking for this year.
The first item on the list, being one of the most frequently requested items on students’ Christmas lists, is an iPad. Students that have iPads have stated how convenient they are.
“I think they’re convenient because they provide the tools to help with notes, and to assist on assignments better than Chromebooks,” says BHS senior Evelynn Similo. iPads are also widely used throughout BHS and are compatible with AirPods and Apple Watches.
The second most popular item on students’ Christmas lists is money or gift cards, allowing students to have flexibility while shopping. Many students prefer this option because it allows them to save for larger purchases or buy exactly what they want without any mistakes, such as an incorrect size or color. This option is also convenient because both money and gift cards can be used both in stores and online. In addition, they reduce stress for parents and guardians, as they won’t have to worry about certain items not being in stock or choosing the wrong gift.
The third most popular item on students’ Christmas lists is AirPods due to their convenience and common everyday use. Many students use AirPods to listen to music, watch videos, and make phone calls. They’re also extremely useful for school, especially when teachers assign videos or independent work, allowing students to complete their assignments without distracting their peers. AirPods wireless design allows students to quickly and easily access them when in need.
The fourth most popular item on students’ Christmas list is the Apple Watch because of its convenience and modern features. Many students have Apple watches to track time, quickly receive notifications, and manage their schedules throughout the day. Apple Watches also track students’ physical activity, encouraging them to stay active. Its connection to other Apple products makes it a highly requested gift.
The final item on the list, being Uggs, is extremely popular among students due to their comfort and seasonal appeal. Many students often choose to wear Uggs because they keep their feet warm, while also fitting current fashion trends throughout the cold months of the year. Their popularity and convenience lead to them being a very popular gift request.
Overall, the items most often found on students’ Christmas lists show a mix of recent trends and personal preferences. Whether it’s technology for everyday use, fashion trends, or flexibility options, these gifts show what students’ most common gift requests are this holiday season. Even Santa has likely noticed the repeated requests after receiving multiple Christmas lists.
