On March 6th pop artist Harry Styles released his album “Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally” after not releasing any music for almost 4 years. This release is his 4th studio album as a solo artist (2017-Present).
The album was announced on January 15th of this year, and not too long after, the first single “Aperture” was released on the 22nd that same month. The album is described to be synth pop and to have a dance-pop feel.
I personally liked this album, and if I had to give it a rating out of ten I would give it a 6/10. While I did like it somewhat, it’s not my favorite or as memorable when put with his 3 previous works over the years. One thing I did really like about it was the upbeat pop that makes it feel like a disco record (hence the album’s title).
The album was good, but it just lost me at a few points and the songs sort of blended together. For example, after the first few songs it started to fall a bit flat in the middle and then eventually pick back up towards the end. However, some stand out tracks from the album were Aperture, American Girls, and Taste Back. When comparing this work with his last album Harry’s House (2022) it wasn’t as consistent with its overall run and sound. His most recent work Kiss All The Time Disco. Occasionally, had lower energy vs. his last work being more of a brighter mood.
Overall, this album was mid-tier for me, but there were still a few good tracks that I took from listening to this album. When recommending to others I would recommend they listen to it, because there’s always a chance someone may like it more than me. Everyone has their perception of all forms of art, especially music, so even though I didn’t love the album, you just might!
