To find out which fairs students are most excited about, I asked a few BHS freshmen about their favorite local events.
“What is your favorite fair in Wayne County and why?”
“My favorite fair in Wayne County is Liberty Fest since everyone goes to it and I get to see people from school there,” said Chase Justice, a freshman at BHS.
“What activities do you look forward to most?”
“I’m looking forward to the carnival rides, different and new fair foods, and just spending time with my friends,” said Aubrey Billingsealy, a freshman at BHS.
Before heading to a fair or festival, it’s important to plan ahead. Most events charge admission, and visitors should expect to spend money on food, rides, games, and souvenirs. Costs can vary depending on the event and activities. Since many fairs and festivals take place outdoors during the summer, comfortable clothing is recommended. Visitors should wear lightweight clothes, comfortable walking shoes, and sunscreen to stay cool throughout the day. Bringing a water bottle and checking the weather forecast before attending can also help make the experience more enjoyable.
As Summer 2026 approaches, Wayne County residents have plenty of opportunities to enjoy rides, food, music, and community celebrations. Whether you’re attending Liberty Fest in Canton, Homecoming in Dearborn, or another local festival, these events offer a chance to make memories, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy everything summer has to offer.
One journalism note: the Romulus Pumpkin Festival takes place in the fall rather than summer. If your article is specifically about summer festivals, you may want to replace it with another summer event such as the Wayne County Fair, Grosse Ile IslandFest, or Downriver Cruise. That would make the list more accurate and strengthen the article even further.
