Every day, crimes go unsolved unless science speaks for the victims. In a world where criminals are becoming more dangerous, forensic science is often the answer to crimes. Modern investigations depend on technology more than ever and without it families would never receive closure and many criminals would go unidentified.
At Belleville High School we offer a forensic science class taught by Ms.Irelan. In this class you would be learning about forensic science and how it collaborates with law enforcement. Going along with detectives depending on technology for their investigations, Ms. Irelan stated, “Since there are more databases and freedom in information, scientists are able to get accurate information.”
Forensic science combines law and justice. It gives detectives tools to uncover what really happened, whether through DNA analysis or digital forensics. These techniques don’t just help solve cold cases, they prevent future crimes by observing patterns, linking suspects to evidence, and making sure the right people are held accountable.
Some people underestimate the role of forensic science because TV shows exaggerate it, but the real work done in labs and courtrooms is even more impactful. Behind every solved case are scientists who analyze evidence and detectives who depend on this information to solve the crime and bring justice to the victims. Without this collaboration, our justice system would be based on guesswork instead of the truth.
Forensic science isn’t just a career, it’s a safeguard for society. It honors victims, supports law enforcement, and protects the public by ensuring that facts determine guilt or innocence. As crimes continue to evolve, investing in forensic science is very important and crucial for a safer future.
